We are a small family run business, we began selling water related items on the internet back in 1995. As there were no reasonably priced ecommerce platforms then (not sure ecommerce was even a word at the time) we had do actually code and build our own pages and sites, We found a line of filters out of Great Britain Called Doulton. After doing some research on Doulton, we found that with their heritage going back to 1826, they must be doing something right. We began selling their pressurized systems that could be easily installed by the average homeowner as we wanted filters that folks could install without the need of a plumber, the end goal was that so everyone could enjoy safe, clean, great tasting water.
Along comes Y2K and customers started calling and asking for Doulton's Gravity Water filtration systems as we, of course were all sure that society as we knew it was definitely going to end at 12AM January 1st 2000. Well I for one, had no idea what a gravity filter was so I contacted our Doulton supplier and the rest is history.
We still sell Doulton pressurized systems but our forte has become the gravity systems which Doulton has branded all of their gravity systems and filters as British Berkefeld giving Doulton the ability to differentiate between pressurized (Doulton) systems and gravity (British Berkefeld) systems.
Over the years we have sold reverse osmosis systems, water distillers, and a lot of dechlorinating shower filters. We are also a Berkey dealer. Though the name Berkey was derived from Berkefeld, there is no connection at this time between Doulton and Berkey, they are and always have been 2 separate companies. Berkey, like us, got their start selling British Berkefeld products before creating their own line which they continue to this day to call Berkey.
